Tony Martensson: "We have to learn from this"

- What can you say about today’s game?

- I think we had moments when we played very well, we played against a very good team. But if we make such mistakes, which we made today, we won’t win these matches.

- Can you say that Metallurg Mg are the strongest team which SKA has played against so far this season?

- It’s the best team which we’ve played with so far. They’re very smart, make no mistakes, and they play very strongly in front of their net. We had problems today creating good scoring chances. That is the reason why they are top in their conference.

- Does Mike Keenan pay special attention to the defence?

- Of course, they play like an NHL team. They play simple hockey, don’t make any turnovers, and like I said they play very strongly in front of their net, making it tough for us to create opportunities.

- This is SKA’s first defeat on home ice. Do you feel sad because of this?

- No, it was the toughest game so far, but of course we wanted to win. We lost, and now we have to get back to winning ways against Dynamo Moscow next week. We have to learn from this, and move on to the next level.

- Was today’s key moment the goalkeeper’s mistake in the third period?

- Of course. The game went back and forth during the final period, and when they scored their second goal it was hard for us. We couldn’t really create any good scoring chances after that unfortunately.

- Afterwards was Yevgeni Ivannikov very upset?

- He played a great game, and when we lose everyone is disappointed. I think he knows that nine times out of ten he would save that, but today it went in. He will forget about this, and play well in the next match again.
