Metallurg Magnitogorsk - SKA. Before the match

Today, at 17:00 Moscow time, SKA will compete against Metallurg Magnitogorsk on the road in the 2021/2022 KHL regular season.
This will be the second meeting between these two teams in the current campaign. On November 2, SKA twice held the lead in Saint Petersburg after two fantastic goals from Andrei Kuzmenko, but Magnitogorsk fought back to equalise and subsequently emerge victorious by a score of 3:2 following a dramatic penalty shootout.
Metallurg are currently occupying first place of the Eastern Conference with 59 points, two ahead of nearest challengers Traktor Chelyabinsk. Coached by Ilya Vorobyov, the Magnitogorsk-based outfit have been somewhat inconsistent in recent matches, though, beating Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod (away, 3:1) and Kunlun Red Star Beijing (home, 6:4) while conceding setbacks to CSKA Moscow (away, 4:6) and Spartak Moscow (home, 2:3).
SKA are coming off the back of four consecutive victories against Dinamo Minsk (home, 2:1), Jokerit Helsinki (home, 3:1), Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg (away, 1:0) and Traktor Chelyabinsk (away, 4:1), results which have consequently allowed our players to move up to fourth spot of the Western Conference. Furthermore, SKA are only trailing conference leaders Jokerit by three points with a gme in hand.
KHL PRIME and Channel 78 will provide a television broadcast in Russia, whereas you can watch a live video on the KHL's official website worldwide. Text updates will be available on our Twitter account.
