Igor Larionov speaks after the first friendly win of the summer

HC SKA head coach Igor Larionov:

“First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone with this victory. Despite the awkward start time, it was nice to see so many fans in attendance. It was a good training game. Our guys played pretty well, but they will improve greatly. Rocco Grimaldi will soon arrive, hopefully next week.”

Conclusions to be drawn from the game…

“It’s too early to make any concrete conclusions. Regardless of the opponents, the first match of the summer is always a bit chaotic, a bit messy. Patience is required. Overall, though, I liked our commitment, dynamic and desire.”

Whether he wants SKA to play a little like this in the KHL…

“There are only signs of what we want to see. When our older, more experienced players will arrive, we will improve. Am I happy with our pre-season so far? Absolutely.”
