Evgeny Malkin: "The Ice Palace is a really loud arena"

- We congratulate you with your NHL Stanley Cup win. How did you spend your summer?
- Because of Pittsburgh taking the trophy, my summer was cut short. Nevertheless, the feelings of winning always gives you nice emotions, and my son was born. I had a holiday in Miami with my family, and not long ago I flew to Moscow.
- What are your impressions from the Ice Palace's atmosphere?
- It's really loud in here, the fans are roaring the team on and the music is played at a high volume. I think that this will inspire the players, and it's great to play in such an atmosphere. It's strange for me to watch a game from the stands, usually I am on the ice or in the dressing room.
- Is there any point in asking who you want to win?
- No! All my thoughts are on the Russian national team, and we have already begun training.
- A lot of familiar faces on the ice. Are you enjoying the level of ice hockey?
- I know all the players on both Magnitogorsk's and Saint Petersburg's team. The level of these clubs is high, especially taking into account that Sergei Mozyakin, Pavel Datsyuk, Ilya Kovalchuk and Vasily Koshechkin are playing. There have been powerplays and even a penalty shot, it's exciting to watch.
- The World Cup is getting closer. What goal do you have for the tournament?
- There is still a lot of time before the World Cup, and we will prepare as usual. We have to sort our line combinations out, and I am sure that everything will be fine.
