Nikolai Puchkov Tournament. SKA – Severstal – 5:3

In a highly eventful third match of the Nikolai Puchkov Tournament, SKA managed to defeat a spirited Severstal Cherepovets side at the Ice Palace, earning a tight 5:3 victory.

Severstal initially drew first blood in the second minute, but SKA subsequently went on to take the lead twice with the Cherepovets-based opponents always striking back.

Sergei Andronov, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Vladimir Alistrov netted our three opening markers.

Nevertheless, Severstal had no answer after Mikhail Vorobyov had grabbed our fourth in the 33rd minute, and Andronov went on to wrap it up with a late empty-netter with a mere two seconds remaining on the clock.

SKA will return to competition action on Thursday against the junior Russian national team in Saint Petersburg. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
