SKA round Puchkov Tournament off with comfortable triumph!

30 August 2026

It was the perfect end to the 2026 Nikolai Puchkov Tournament for SKA, as our senior team defeated VHL side SKA-VMF 3:1 in Saint Petersburg!

Troubled little throughout, our players eventually made their superior class count with two markers in the second stanza before subsequently seeing it out with minimal fuss.

Linus Weissbach opened the scoring in the 34th minute of play when pouncing on the rebound, before Daniil Miromanov beat goalkeeper Denis Popov from distance on the powerplay.

Fellow defenseman Nikita Zaitsev made sure of the result at the blue line five minutes from time. Matvei Kabush did then ruin Sergei Ivanov’s shutout hopes, but it was no more than a late consolation for SKA-VMF.

SKA will now prepare for the maiden game of the 2026/2027 KHL regular season next Saturday against Lada Tolyatti. Puck-drop at the SKA Arena is scheduled for 17:00 local time.
