Nikolai Puchkov Tournament. SKA - Sibir - 6:3

In the penultimate game of the 2023 Nikolai Puchkov Tournament, SKA got the better of Sibir Novosibirsk in a nine-goal thriller, tallying a dramatic 6:3 triumph.

The visitors initially opened up a two-goal advantage through quickfire goals from Taylor Beck and Artyom Zhukov. Nevertheless, SKA turned the game on its head in the second stanza, netting three powerplay goals with Ivan Demidov, Ilya Fedotov and Sergei Sapego all beating away goaltender Anton Krasotkin when completing flowing plays.

Mikhail Pashnin inadvertently deflected Beck's pass into his own net in the 43rd minute to draw Sibir level. However, SKA weren't in the mood for letting the opponents emerge victorious, and Sergei Tochinsky tallied another superb PP goal to put our players in the driving seat with 12 minutes remaining on the clock.

After Sibir had opted to swap Krasotkin for the extra skater in the closing moments, SKA duly sealed the deal with two empty-netters from Ivan Zinchenko and Marat Khairullin.

Tomorrow, at 19:30 local time, SKA will complete the competition with a match against Severstal Cherepovets at the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace.
