Traktor - SKA

Traktor - SKA - 1:4

8 December 2021

In the second match of this road trip, SKA emerged victorious against Traktor Chelyabinsk for the second time in the 2021/2022 KHL regular season, confidently defeating their hosts 4:1.

In truth, very few clear opportunities were witnessed during the opening period, as the two teams competed in a cautious manner without taking any risks.

SKA subsequently took charge of proceedings in the second stanza.

The breakthrough was made midway through the period. On the left flank, Chelyabinsk-born Anton Burdasov connected with a clever pass from Niktia Sedov, drawing back his stick and thumping a strong shot under Traktor goaltender Roman Will.

The lead was doubled in the 39th minute.

After stealing possession, Mikhail Vorobyov picked out the onrushing Danila Moiseev, the pair put together a neat passing play, and the latter expertly gave it the finished it deserved.

Kirill Marchenko put SKA in a superb position in the 45th minute, lashing an instant effort beyond the exposed Will after Leo Komarov had robbed an opponent of the puck in the attacking zone. That assist marked Komarov's maiden point since joining SKA.

In the 53rd minute, Vitaly Abramov ended Lars Johansson's shutout hopes by knocking the puck in at close-range, but SKA had the final say in the game in the penultimate minute as Burdasov launched a trademark one-timer past Will on the powerplay.

SKA will now prepare to compete against Metallurg Magnitogorsk away from home on Friday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 17:00 Moscow time.
