SKA - Slovan. Match day

The second match of this home series will take place today against HC Slovan Bratislava in Saint Petersburg.

At the beginning of this season we played against Slovan away in Slovakia, and in a tight and tense match Evgeny Ketov's overtime winner took SKA to a 2:1 victory. Coached by former SKA manager Milos Riha Slovan have been looking to improve on last campaign's disappointing showing, and they are currently in great form. The Slovakians have won their past seven matches in a row, and that has taken them into eighth place of the Western Conference with 73 points. Goaltender Barry Brust took his fifth season shutout against HC Spartak Moscow (4:0) in their previous match, and overall he has a 92.2% saves percentage. Their top scorer is forward Lukas Kaspar with 35 points (13+22).

In the previous game against Medvescak, our team notched their second win of 2016 5:3. That has taken the points total up to 79, and a win today would move SKA up to joint fifth of the conference. In that match with Medvescak, goaltender Ilya Ezhov made his first appearance for almost two months and made 24 saves.

The SKA - Slovan match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and KHL TV will both broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events by following either our online matchcentre or our official Twitter account.
