SKA - Lada. Match day

SKA will play their second home match in a row today against HC Lada Togliatti.
This is Lada's second KHL season since returning from a few years out, and they have had trouble settling in again. The Tolyatti outfit struggled last season failing to make the playoffs, and this time around they find themselves in last place of the overall table with only 18 points. Already this year they endured a ten match losing streak, but nevertheless they have picked up of late. Three of the last four games have been won, and their previous match saw them defeat HC Medvescak Zagreb 5:2 at home in impressive fashion. Latvian netminder Edgars Masalskis has been brilliant for Lada, and already has a solid 93.5% saves percentage. Lada have found it tough scoring goals, but their top scorer is 28 year old forward Alexander Bumagin with eleven (5+6). Ex SKA defenceman Dmitry Vorobyov has more points than any other player in his category (5 - 1+4).
Following the 1:3 home defeat to Ak Bars SKA relieved Andrei Nazarov of his duties, and today's match will be interim manager Sergei Zubov's debut as head. He will be pleased to welcome back Maxim Chudinov from a two match suspension, and he will also be hoping for more impressive performances from Finnish goaltender Mikko Koskinen.
The SKA - Lada match will begin at 17.00 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and KHL TV will both broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events by following our official Twitter account.
