Second successive OT triumph over Lada!
Second successive OT triumph over Lada!

SKA once again got the better of Lada Tolyatti in overtime, claiming a tense 2:1 victory to successfully close out the maiden home series of the 2026/2027 KHL regular season.
In similar fashion to Saturday, our players were on the ropes as they trailed heading into the latter stages, but Danil Aimurzin came to the rescue before Yegor Savikov struck in OT.
Lada thought that they had opened the scoring in the 15th minute of play. However, Ruslan Umerov's close-range goal was chalked off as a consequence of goaltending interference against Sergei Ivanov after SKA had used their coach's challenge.
Nonetheless, the away side did eventually break the deadlock in the last knockings of the second stanza with Mikhail Belyayev hitting the jackpot from the left flank.
Despite beginning to force the issue, SKA were struggling to create many clear-cut opportunities. But, with seven minutes remaining on the clock, Aimurzin completed a flowing passing play to save the day.
And Savikov then sealed the deal just 15 seconds into the extra frame, powering through the Lada defence and expertly backhanding past Andrei Mishurov.
SKA will now prepare to face Spartak on the road tomorrow. Puck-drop in Moscow is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
