SKA - Admiral. Press-conference

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:

- It was important for us to finish this home series with a positive result. Taking into account their recent results, we knew that Admiral would start with aggression. However, Admiral did compete with more desire than us during the opening stages, we were suffering as a consequence of having not played for a few days. We took a few penalties, but I'm pleased with how we defended and prevented the opponents from using their 5-on-3 chance. The schedule now allows us to recover before we play again. I would also like to use this opportunity to congratulate everyone with Father's Day!

- When playing against defensive teams like Vladivostok and Yaroslavl, how important is it to score the first goal?

- Everyone holds the right to play how they like. From our point of view, we're focused on how we are playing. It's always important to score the first goal in any game, we always like to hit the target during the opening stages. At the same time, we need to be able to resist the opponents' attacks, be patient and compete in the required manner. We managed to survive Admiral's onslaught in the first period before subsequently taking control.

HC Admiral Vladivostok head coach Leonid Tambiev:

- We played well during the first period, but then we conceded while shorthanded and SKA scored again immediately in the maiden shift of the second stanza. Following that second goal, SKA fully took the initiative. Both teams subsequently attacked hard, but the opponents' extra quality took its toll. They punished us for the mistakes which we committed. I liked the first period, but that's it.

HC SKA forward Arseniy Gritsyuk:

- We played excellently today. I'm happy that we won, and that we helped our goalkeeper gain a shutout. There were plenty of moments today when Artemiy Pleshkov kept us in the game! Yes, there are aspects which require improvement, but the score is there for everyone to see.

HC SKA forward Semyon Sinyatkin:

- We're happy with how we performed today, we followed the game plan. We now have a road trip coming up in which we want to only achieve victories. My goal? I'm really happy that I managed to take advantage of my opportunity! I was waiting to receive my chance, and I used it. It's great!
