Lev Berdichevsky: "We showed character against a strong opponent"

Interim SKA head coach Lev Berdichevsky:

- It was an interesting game, Barys have an experienced team with good players. We struggled during the first period, especially when we were shorthanded. Nevertheless, our players then subsequently made an improvement, playing how we wanted them to. We showed character against a strong opponent. It's a shame that we couldn't win on the powerplay during overtime, and the opponents' class told in the ensuing penalty shootout. I would like to thank our players for not giving up after the first period.

- How would you summarise this road trip?

- The main thing is that our young players are gaining vital experience while playing on an even footing with strong opponents. For example, Barys have good Canadian and Swedish players, whereas this was the second successive match in which we played without foreigners. This speaks volumes about the strength of our system. The guys are progressing in front of our eyes.
