Barys beaten as Bardakov stars!

27 September 2026

Zakhar Bardakov stole the show on his return to action, as his two points powered SKA to an entertaining 5:3 victory against Barys in Astana.

The tenacious 25-year-old immediately put SKA in the driving seat, opening the scoring in the first minute of play before subsequently providing an assist in what was his maiden appearance since 5 September.

Sergei Plotnikov, who had received the assist from Bardakov for our second marker on the counter, then grabbed our third at close range with only 16 minutes on the clock.

Having already wasted a number of opportunities of their own, plucky Barys did get on the board in the early knockings of the second stanza when Vsevolod Logvin backhanded the rebound past Artemiy Pleshkov.

Nevertheless, thanks to a quickfire brace from Vasily Glotov - his first on the man advantage sending Hunter Shepard to the bench for Andrei Shutov and his second being netted shorthanded - SKA firmly put themselves back in the driving seat.

The game consequently appeared to be done and dusted as a contest.

Barys had other ideas, though. The impressive Logvin hauled the Kazakhs back to within three on the PP moments after Glotov had registered our fifth, whipping home from the left circle.

And a nervy ending looked on the cards when Semyon Simonov completed a flowing play midway through the third frame.

The hosts duly pressed with all of their might in the closing stages, but SKA stood tall to the challenge.

Our next match is scheduled to take place on Tuesday against CSKA in Moscow. Puck-drop is penciled in for 19:30 local time.
