Igor Shestyorkin: "After making the first save it becomes easier"

- What is scarier - playing for the Russian junior national team at the World Junior Championship, or for SKA in the KHL?
- Nothing frightens me. The main thing is to prepare mentally, and only think about the game. Yes, of course you can worry, but after the first save it becomes easier.
- You were named the best player of the game. How would you rate your own performance?
- I have things to improve on, of course. I need to move quicker, choose positions better. I'm not overly happy with my game, but the main thing is that the team won.
- When did you find out that you were going to play against Severstal? It was a surprise for many..
- After the morning's workout. Both goalkeepers are constantly training, and in any case I was ready. The only thing left was to get mentally pumped up, and go out onto the ice.
- Do you know who will play against CSKA?
- I don't know yet, you need to ask the coaching staff. If I am told to play, I will.
- Do you still have some emotions left from Canada?
- I'm not sleeping very well at the moment of course. I'm trying to forget about what happened. Two shots, two goals...but it was nice, that the guys supported me in that tough moment, no words against me were said. Sometimes it happens, that players start to say something to you after you have played poorly. Everyone understood the situation for themselves. We had a fantastic team, a brilliant coach, and everything was fine. Now a different stage is coming up.
- Are you happy with the silver medal? Or is there a feeling, that the team could have won gold?
- Any medal is something to cherish. I'm happy that the coach trusted me, and that I met new people in our team. We were a united team - that's a great thing. Silver is an excellent result, although gold was close.
