Barys - SKA. Match day

SKA will begin their three match road trip with a fixture against HC Barys Astana in Kazakhstan.

Today's Kazakh opponents are well known to SKA fans, and Barys have had a very interesting campaign so far. Ex SKA head coach Andrei Nazarov, who rejoined Barys last year after he left Saint Petersburg, had a terrible start to the new season, and Barys' management eventually lost their patience with him. New boss Eduard Znakovets will be looking to improve his team's fortunes, however things haven't got better. Barys are coming off the back of two straight defeats against Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, and they have lost four games out of their last five.

Despite their shocking form, Barys do have a pretty solid roster at their disposal. Swedish goaltender Henrik Karlsson was signed from Jokerit during the summer, and they managed to keep a hold of their top forwards Nigel Dawes, Dustin Boyd and Brandon Bochenski.

Our players arrived in Kazakhstan yesterday, and held a morning skate on Kazakh ice. In contrast to Barys, SKA won their previous game 4:0 against Severstal, and will be wanting to begin this tough away series with a win.

The Barys - SKA match will begin at 16.30 Moscow time inside the Barys Arena, Kazakhstan. Life78 and KHL TV HD will broadcast live, and you can follow events live on our official Twitter account!
