Barys - SKA - 3:2 SO

4 October 2020

In Kazakhstan, SKA claimed one point against HC Barys in the 2020/2021 KHL regular season, fighting back before eventually losing 2:3 in the ensuing penalty shootout.

The two teams matched each other throughout the majority of the first period. However, Barys managed to open up a two-goal lead, as Anton Sagadeev and Darren Dietz beat Mikhail Berdin in the SKA net.

However, our players weren't prepared to give up, and Ivan Morozov scored from close range to get SKA on the board in the second stanza. Pressing with intensity, our players then subsequently equalised in the third, as Evgeny Timkin lashed the puck into the net on the counter.

Nevertheless, after missing good chances in overtime, SKA came up short in the shootout 2:3.

SKA will now prepare to face Metallurg Magnitogorsk at the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace on Wednesday. Puck drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
