Alexei Ponikarovsky: "We need to win four games in a row"

- Did everything go well today, or are there things to work over?
- It was a tough game, and we won by only one goal. We played well on the penalty kill. We had focused a lot on this component, as before today we had conceded a lot of goals when a man down. No goals were scored on the powerplay, but we still managed to win in overtime.
- Andrei Nazarov said that the team got lucky. Do you agree with that, or do you think that that team's hard work paid off?
- There is always some luck present. All of the guys gave everything for the win today, and as a result luck was on our side.
- Is there now a feeling that the team has picked up form and will continue to keep winning?
- When we skate out on to the ice, we have only one goal - win. We don't need to win one game, four victories in a row are required to gain more confidence. We're working over it.
- How much do you miss Ilya Kovalchuk?
- When Ilya is with us, it's always a big plus point. We are waiting for him to play again, and he has already begun skating again.
- Does the fact that he watches the games in the stands make the team even more motivated?
- He's come with us on this road trip to train and keep the team spirit going. It's easier to analyse the game in the stands, and if needs be he will tell us where we went wrong.
