Friendly match. Almtuna IS - SKA - 1:4

A friendly match was held today against Almtuna IS in Marsta, Sweden, as SKA continues to prepare for the second half of the KHL regular season. Due to a large chunk of the squad being with their respective national teams only 14 players were registered for the game, with Pyotr Khokryakov making his SKA debut. Yevgeni Ivannikov was in net, with Dmitry Shikin being his backup.
As expected SKA began firmly on the front foot, and forward Alexander Barabanov could have opened up the scoring seconds in – all alone with only the goalkeeper to beat, he failed to find the net. His miss was soon cancelled out though, as debutant Pyotr Khokhryakov scored his first goal. Charging on to a diagonal dish from Tony Martensson, he fired the puck hard and high past the goaltender. It soon became two, as Yevgeni Ketov collected an Andrey Ermakov pass to score. Pyotr Khokhryakov had a double to celebrate not long later as well, as with another Andrey Ermakov assist his effort from the boards caught out the home goaltender.
Almtuna weren’t having a lot of joy, but a minute and a half after the restart they did get on the board – a rather strange rebound off Yevgeni Ivannikov trickled over the line. SKA weren’t fazed by that though, and promptly restored their three goal advantage – a beautiful combination play was finished off by Ilya Kablukov to make it 4:1.
In the third period it was the hosts who had the initiative, and they even managed to smack Yevgeni Ivannikov’s crossbar. The score didn’t change anymore though, and SKA cruised to a 4:1 friendly win over Almtuna IS in Sweden.
