SKA - Vityaz - 3:2 OT

1 December 2023

In a tough battle, SKA outlasted Vityaz Moscow Region at the Ice Palace in the 2023/2024 KHL regular season, earning a pulsating 3:2 triumph.

Ahead of the third period, Vityaz surprisingly possessed a two-goal advantage thanks to Ivan Ezhov's intelligent tip at the end of the first and a whipped wrister from Ilya Vorobyov on the right circle.

However, our players weren't about to surrender their winning streak without a fight.

Alexander Nikishin quickly halved the deficit, catching away goaltender Dmitry Shikin cold with a rising attempt on the right flank.

With a little over six minutes remaining on the clock, Vladimir Alistrov saved the day for our team, equalising with a stunning individual effort on the powerplay.

Another PP opened the door for SKA to emerge victorious in the ensuing overtime frame.

Alone on the slot, Mikhail Vorobyov gave Shikin no chance with his low attempt.

SKA will now prepare to face Metallurg in Magnitogorsk on Sunday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 15:00 Moscow time.
