Savikov secures dramatic win at Shanghai!

30 December 2025

Overtime was looming against the Shanghai Dragons, but Yegor Savikov had other ideas as his late dagger earned a tense 3:2 win for SKA on the road!

After matching each other for the vast majority of the 60 minutes, an extra five seemed a given at the SKA Arena, however Savikov's deflected slap shot from the blue line denied Shanghai a share of the spoils.

The game had initially threatened to be a goal-filled thriller.

Following Joe Blandisi's opener, Shanghai responded through Nikita Popugayev, but Nikita Dishkovsky immediately replied to once again put SKA in front.

And that was all within the maiden eight minutes of play.

However, the match subsequently became somewhat of a tense, hard-fought affair with few opportunities on show.

Shanghai found their equaliser in the closing stages of the second stanza, with Gage Quinney tipping home on the doorstep.

That goal looked to have earned at least one point for the home side, until Savikov struck during one of SKA's rare third-frame attacks.

SKA will now prepare to host Lada Tolyatti at the Ice Palace on 7 January. Puck-drop is scheduled for 17:00 local time.
