Second loss in two games to Lokomotiv

In a rather underwhelming encounter, SKA conceded a second defeat in two matches against Lokomotiv Yaroslavl as a part of the 2025/2026 KHL regular season, coming up short by a score of 1:3.
The visitors quickly took control of proceedings in the first period.
Alexander Radulov cleaned up the loose change on the slot, before Rushan Rafikov's attempt from distance flew beyond the unsighted Yegor Zavragin.
SKA did begin to create chances in the second stanza. However, while our players' finishing was lacking, Lokomotiv's certainly wasn't as Artur Kayumov's tip virtually ended the game as a contest.
Sergei Plotnikov bundled in while competing on the powerplay in the early stages of the third period, and Daniil Isayev did have a couple of challenging saves to subsequently make, but Lokomotiv calmly saw the match our.
Isayev notably stopped a penalty shot from Andrei Loktionov after he had been found guilty of knocking the net off its moorings.
SKA will now prepare to host CSKA Moscow in Saint Petersburg on Wednesday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
