SKA - CSKA. Press-conference

HC CSKA Moscow head coach Dmitry Kvartalnov:
- It was a good game. We began a bit stiff in the first period, and took a lot of penalties. However, our goaltender Ilya Sorokin kept us in the game and gave us a chance. We are thankful to him for that, and in the second and third periods we played well and won.
- Geoff Platt played a lot on the crease. Was this because of being the 13th forward?
- The crease is Geoff's place, if you see how many goals he has scored there you will understand what I'm talking about. We decided to make him the 13th forward today.
- Will you give Maxim Tretyak a chance in Riga?
- Viktor Fasth was supposed to play with Riga, but he became ill at the morning skate. We will think about Maxim.
- How is Maxim Mamin?
- He got a cold, and has stayed in Moscow.
- What happened with Andrei Svetlakov?
- He has only just got over an injury taken in Chelyabinsk, and now here's another. This is not a case when a player supposedly gets injured, stays down and then plays in the next shift like normal. It's a great shame. A very experienced player did this, and he struck Andrei when the puck was moving in a different direction.
HC SKA head coach Sergei Zubov:
- I congratulate the opponents. Thank you to all of our fans for the support today, they roared us on. A lot of our players fought until the end. The deciding factor was the special teams, and on six powerplays we had only four shots. That's not acceptable, and we will work over this.
- In Moscow, you said that it's impossible to win playing less than 60 minutes. What would you say today?
- A lot of our players played 60 minutes today. Unfortunately, we took penalties too. CSKA took over the initiative in the second period, and at points had an advantage. Nevertheless overall it was an even game.
