SKA - CSKA. Press-conference of Game Four

HC CSKA Moscow head coach Dmitry Kvartalnov:

- I congratulate Vyacheslav with the win. Today we didn't play as we had planned. SKA were great on the powerplay, and our penalty killing didn't work. That probably was the deciding factor.

- Why did your team pick up so many penalties? Did your players not take this game seriously enough?

- Yes, that is probably why. Maybe we didn't get pumped up enough. The opponents were fresher, faster, and that decided the outcome.

- Did your timeout in the first period help at all? And do you know who will be in your net for the fifth game?

- No, I don't know who will play. About our timeout, then it was very noisy inside the arena, I don't know if the players heard me.

- Your first line didn't play that well today. Why?

- I was impressed with how they performed.

HC SKA head coach Vyacheslav Bykov:

- Just like in the previous match, special teams decided the game. We can't lose any more games, we will continue to work.

- How are you helping the players believe in themselves?

- I'm not a fan of revealing what goes on inside our team.

- Why did you make so many changes to the line-up, and why wasn't Viktor Tikhonov on the ice?

- We made some changes, and gave a chance to the fresher Alexey Ponikarovsky who replaced Viktor. I don't want to talk about rotating the squad.

- In the previous match you noted that your special teams didn't play successfully. How did you turn it around in such a short space of time?

- There's no magic involved. It's hockey, and today it all came together.

- The three powerplay goals were scored following specific build up play. What new ideas can we expect in Moscow?

- The guys are trying. Playing on the powerplay is a real creative process, and you have to study how the opponents are set up.
