SKA - Torpedo. Press-conference of Game One

HC Torpedo head coach Peteris Skudra:
- If I'm honest, I am even embarrassed to talk about to today's game. Such terrible and lawlessness refereeing in the playoffs is uncalled for - it's disrespect to the game. Saint Petersburg are already a good team, they can win by themselves. However if we are required to let them pass into the next round, then we will do so. I can't not respect the game. I was embarrassed to be on the bench today and take a part in this match. It's just a mess. For interest's sake, we will send a report to the league about the challenge against Alexey Pepelyaev for the league to look at. It was a complete circus. Saint Petersburg played great and deservedly won. If such stupidness will continue, then there is no point in us playing. It was like a clown's show.
- If we cut away from the emotions, what was your plan for the game?
- Everything went to plan.
- Some journalists have written, that if losing 0:8 Torpedo will be ready to break SKA legs. Do your emotions show that you can't win?
- We can't win? Well, if we are on the penalty kill all game then yes, we can't.
- How will the players prepare for tomorrow?
- I have already spoken to them.
- Will the third period help the team morally?
- We need to play hockey for the full 60 minutes, no matter on what the result is. Maybe it has helped - tomorrow we will see.
HC SKA head coach Vyacheslav Bykov:
- It was only the first match, and the score is simply 1:0. We will prepare further.
- Ilya Kovalchuk didn't look that bright on the powerplay. Will you look at other players for playing with a man's advantage?
- We have played the whole season that way. I don't see any reason to panic now. We had the whole regular season to think about this, and I am not going to name any particular names.
- Was the third period down to Torpedo pressing or SKA relaxing?
- A bit of both. It was clear that the opponents didn't agree with how the game was going, and we allowed them to get back into things.
