SKA - Sochi - 8:1

SKA comfortably made a winning start to life at the new SKA Arena, coasting to a routine 8:1 victory against Sochi in the 2023/2024 KHL regular season.

Sergei Tolchinsky immediately provided our team with the perfect start, firing home into the gaping net after the puck had taken a wicked ricochet off the boards behind the goal.

Alex Galchenyuk doubled our lead in the 23rd minute on the powerplay, before Daniil Seroukh subsequently halved the deficit for Sochi. Nevertheless, SKA quickly reinstated the two-goal advantage before the second stanza was out, with Vasily Glotov completing a flowing passing play.

SKA then pounded the misery on Sochi during the third frame, as Tolchinsky, Marat Khairullin (twice), Galchenyuk and Artyom Zemchyonok all hit the target.

Our players will now prepare to host Lada Tolyatti in Saint Petersburg on Tuesday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
