Routine win in final home regular-season outing!

14 March 2025

SKA breezed to a comfortable victory in the concluding home game of the 2024/2025 KHL regular season, defeating Sochi 2:0 in Saint Petersburg.

With defences on top for the vast majority of proceedings, not too many clear chances were on show inside the packed-out SKA Arena, however our players made sure of the points thanks to a goal apiece in the opening two stanzas.

Our game-winner arrived early on in the eighth minute.
Sergei Tolchinsky continued his impressive run of form while competing on the powerplay, receiving a sharp pass on the slot and giving away goaltender Evgeny Volokhin no chance with a sharp effort on the turn.

One became two midway through the second period.

Arseniy Gritsyuk picked out the onrushing Mikhail Grigorenko while skating away on the counter, who smashed his powerful one-timer into the right corner.

That proved to be the decisive moment. Despite their huffing and puffing, Sochi never really tested SKA or Yegor Zavragin, with our gifted 19-year-old calmly stopping all 23 shots which he faced.

SKA will now prepare to face Traktor in Chelyabinsk on Tuesday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 14:00 Moscow time.
