SKA - Salavat Yulaev. Press-conference

HC Salavat Yulaev head coach Igor Zakharkin:

- We had a tough lesson today. For this game, we decided to play with three pairs of defensemen, but nothing went our way. Nevertheless, we have learnt how to play when everything is going wrong and how to play on special teams. Hopefully, we will learn from this experience.

- After conceding so many goals, why didn’t you pull Niklas Svedberg?

- We wanted him to play until the end.

- It’s suicidal to play aggressive ice hockey with SKA. What was your plan?

- I don’t know why we started so poorly. We didn’t expect SKA to play so fast, and no matter who we play against, we always attacking ice hockey. If you look at the match overall, the goals which we conceded were just stupid. It turned out a bit comical, but we will grow from this.

SKA head coach Oleg Znarok:

- Against Traktor, we couldn’t score in the first period, but we made up for that today. We played well on the powerplay, and played with discipline. I am satisfied with the result.

- Why were Steve Moses and Evgeny Ketov left out of the line-up?

- Steve has a small injury. We have a large squad, and there will be rotation.

- The team came flying out of the blocks.

- The first period was great for us, and we played like we did in Chelyabinsk. Lots of chances were created, and the difference was that today we took advantage of them.

- Is it good for SKA to play against such strong opponents?

- The only important thing is that we win. We want to beat all of the other teams, and it doesn’t hold any meaning who is on the other side of the ice.
