SKA - Salavat Yulaev - 2:0

In a tight duel, SKA managed to keep Salavat Yulaev Ufa at bay in Saint Petersburg in the 2023/2024 KHL regular season, gaining a nervy 2:0 triumph.

Following a goalless first period, Croatian forward Borna Rendulic drew first blood for SKA in the 35th minute, as he completed a flowing passing play from the doorstep.

Stepan Starkov then subsequently sealed the deal midway through the third frame, pouncing on the rebound after Zakhar Bardakov’s initial shot had been turned aside by former SKA goaltender Ilya Ezhov.

At the start of the third stanza, Salavat had been presented with a big 5-on-3 opportunity to draw level, but our goalkeeper Nikita Serebryakov stood tall to the challenge on his way to earning an impressive shutout.

SKA will now prepare to host Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod at the SKA Arena on Sunday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 17:00 local time.
