SKA outlast Admiral in tense duel!

4 December 2025

In what predictably turned out to be a tight, hard-fought battle, SKA edged Admiral Vladivostok on the road, emerging victorious by a score of 3:1.

The game was finely balanced throughout, but Nikolai Goldobin’s excellent effort early in the third period ensured that SKA made a winning start to the Far Eastern trip.

Our players had initially taken the lead through the in-form Brendan Leipsic in the concluding minute of the opening stanza.

When powering towards the Admiral net unchallenged on the right flank, the confident 31-year-old whipped a firm wrister beyond home goalkeeper Dmitry Shugayev.

The Canada-born forward would then miss a penalty shot in the second stanza after home defenseman Alexander Shepelev had slashed against the clean-through Marat Khairullin.

That wasted opportunity was witnessed not long following Kyle Olsen’s equalising goal for Vladivostok on the powerplay.

Nevertheless, SKA weren’t to be denied a fifth win in six games, as Goldobin got the better of Shugayev with a superb wrister from the high slot.

Admiral threw everything at SKA in the closing stages, but our team iced it with an empty-netter from Andrei Pedan in the final minute.

SKA will now prepare to face Amur in Khabarovsk on Saturday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 10:00 Moscow time.
