SKA - Metallurg Magitogorsk - 2:1

In the concluding match of this 2018/2019 KHL home series, SKA defeated HC Metallurg Magnitogorsk 2:1 at the Saint Petersburg, with forward Maxim Karpov scoring the winner in the second period.
As expected, the remake of the 2016/2017 KHL Gagarin Cup final was a tight affair, but SKA sneaked a victory with two goals on the powerplay. Defenseman Anton Belov opened the scoring after 14 minutes of play, drawing his stick back and thumping a slap shot beyond the visiting goalkeeper Vasily Koshechkin.
Metallurg equalised early in the second stanza. Standing alone on the right faceoff circle, forward Andrei Chibisov was allowed time and space in which to take aim, firing a rasping wrister under Magnus Hellberg's blocker. However, SKA quickly responded, as Maxim Karpov lashed home on the doorstep.
SKA will next take to the ice on November 22 against HC Severstal in Cherepovets.
