Game two. SKA - Lokomotiv - 6:1

In game two of the 2018/2019 KHL Gagarin Cup playoffs second round, SKA comfortably defeated HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl 6:1 at the Saint Petersburg, consequently taking a commanding 2:0 series lead.
For 25 minutes, it was a finely balanced match, but Lokomotiv subsequently fell apart after Canadian forward Brandon Kozun received a 5+20 penalty. The series now moves to Yaroslavl with SKA boasting a 2:0 advantage.
On 13 minutes, Mikhail Maltsev grabbed his maiden KHL playoff goal from a tight angle on the left flank, but Artur Kayumov quickly responded for Lokomotiv on the powerplay.
Nevertheless, SKA's Nikita Gusev made it 2:1 midway through the second frame, and on the ensuing five minute powerplay, Alexei Byvaltsev and Jarno Koskiranta hit the jackpot. Lokomotiv then decided to swap Alexander Salak for Ilya Konovalov between the pipes.
However, it made little difference, as Pavel Datsyuk (powerplay) and Viktor Tikhonov scored in the third period to secure an impressive 6:1 triumph!
