SKA - Kunlun Red Star. Press-conference

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:

- We had prepared well for this match. Our guys did a great job, they worked hard for the benefit of the team. Given that this was our final home game of the regular season, we really wanted to win. Furthermore, we are keeping the playoffs in mind. This regular season, we managed to set a KHL record in terms of home victories! Thank you to our fans for such fantastic support.

- Have you encountered problems when getting the players ready for these matches? You have long won the Continental Cup.

- No, not at all. We're preparing for the playoffs, the most important stage of the campaign. These games are allowing us to work on our tactics and the details, ensuring that we are fully prepared for the knockout matches. Kunlun are a good side, they like to play in a Canadian manner. We have to give them credit. Moving forward, we have to focus on each individual game and on improving all aspects of our performances.

HC Kunlun Red Star head coach Greg Ireland:

- We had quite a few good chances to score. When you're playing against such a strong, fast opponent, you find yourself being punished for every single mistake. However, I would like to talk about the positives too, we continued playing until the end and were trying to score goals. We're also happy that we managed to take advantage of the one powerplay which came our way. Given that we can't reach the playoffs, we're currently focusing on preparing for the World Championship with China and giving some of our younger guys an opportunity to compete at this level. We still want to win games, though, it's vital to install a winning mentality. Where will Kunlun play next season? As far as I know, the club will move back to China.

HC SKA forward Alexander Volkov:

- It was an entertaining game for the fans with lots of goals. How have we coped with such a long regular season? Our pre-season work during the summer is paying dividends. In my opinion, we have progressed through the campaign without any serious dips in form.

HC SKA forward Vladislav Tsitsyura:

- First of all, I want to thank our fans for their superb support throughout the entirety of the regular season! For the playoffs, we have to be in ideal physical shape. The playoffs are now our sole focus.
