SKA - Kunlun Red Star. Press-conference

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:
- Everyone worked as a united group today, they played for each other. We followed the game plan. There were a couple of disappointing mistakes, but we will analyse them. Thank you to our fans who provided us with fantastic support inside the Ice Palace today, we're looking forward to seeing you all again on Wednesday!
- Why did you use your time-out during your extended powerplay in the concluding couple of minutes? You were already leading 6:2.
- Our guys competing on our two powerplay units needed time to recover. Defenseman Maxim Fedotov playd on the slot while we played on the PP? It was our creative approach. We now have to prepare for our next game, we've already seen that Lokomotiv managed to shut out Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod today. We have time to think about how we can break down Yaroslavl's defence.
HC Kunlun Red Star head coach Viktor Ignatyev:
- I would like to congratulate SKA with their victory. They have a fast, agile team, we saw this throughout the match. SKA were always two steps ahead of us. After playing in four
matches across five days, we looked tired out there. We were a lot faster when playing against Torpedo a couple of days ago. SKA were quicker and more mobile than us, so this is why the score is what it is. The hosts had enough opportunities to score a lot more goals.
- The schedule is really challenging for Kunlun. How can you improve your form? You've already lost seven in a row now.
- In the end, all teams will play in the same amount of games. We've understood our schedule since August. Yes, it's true that October is difficult for us, this was our seventh game in 11 days. We had planned accordingly, but you can't deny the facts of physiology. People aren't robots! Furthermore, we've played against strong teams like SKA and Torpedo during this streak. The schedule is so demanding that I can't even remember the other teams who we faced. In terms of our psychological state, it's disappointing to lose, but we have to analyse what happened and forget about the results. Sometimes we only have 20 hours before our next match begins. No one said it was going to be easy. We will now play Dinamo Minsk, Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk and CSKA Moscow in our upcoming games.
- Your goalkeepers are receiving the same amount of ice time.
- Both of them are playing well, they keep us in with a chance in every game. Our goalkeeping coach Vladimir Kulikov put together a plan for our goaltenders which we're working in accordance with.
HC SKA defenseman Mikhail Pashnin:
- This was a good home match. We won because we controlled the puck better than the opponents, and we were focused on crashing the net instead of making too many passes. My goal? I managed to beat my marker, before catching the goalkeeper by surprise with my wraparound. Did we bear in mind that Kunlun have a challenging schedule? No. We know that they started the season well, they managed to beat a few leading teams. We had prepared well for this game.
HC SKA defenseman Maxim Fedotov:
- We took the game in our hands, capitalised on our scoring opportunities and earned the victory. We always like to compete with a lot of energy. There were a few disagreements on the ice? Canadians and Americans always play a bit dirty, they tried to provoke our leading players.
