SKA - HC Sochi. Press-conference

12 October 2015

HC Sochi head coach Vyacheslav Butsaev:

- I congratulate my guys with this hard earned win. It was an interesting game, and both teams performed well on the penalty kill. Nevertheless we managed to score in the third period and hang on. Both goaltenders played well, and I think such an eventful match should please the fans.

HC SKA head coach Andrei Nazarov:

- We played for a long time on the penalty kill. After such a game I can only apologise to the fans, one goal in two matches is not an acceptable result. The guys are trying, but we as coaches are missing something. The dressing room is a very quiet one right now. We need to turn this situation around and start scoring goals.

- What do you need specifically to improve? Your powerplay?

- Probably we need to stop playing some certain players on the powerplay. This again comes down to the coach, as I kept playing the same players time and time again. It was needed to play different guys.

- Jarno Koskiranta's return to the first line resulted in a goal. What other changes can be expected?

- I need to think. We have a lot of talented guys. They are trying, and I am grateful to them for that. Nevertheless the team is going through a bad period, and I should make conclusions. Sometimes one change can make the telling difference. One goal in two games, a goal that was even scored by a player's leg, is a real problem.

- The team will now play against HC Spartak Moscow away, a huge match for a lot of fans. Will the players be especially pumped up?

- We want to beat any team, Sochi or Spartak. We all know that the ultra fans will come to Moscow. We have other problems however.

- The fans are calling you to be sacked.

- That is not a question for me. The players believe in me and listen to me, and I will keep working while that is the case.

- Is Joakim Lindstrom injured?

- Yes, he is carrying a small injury. The doctors advised me not to play him today.

- Talk about Maxim Chudinov's penalty.

- He took seven penalty minutes in a row. I did that in my days, but that was what I was paid for. Maxim is paid for other things however. He helps our team on a regular basis, and he needs to play rough while not getting penalised. Seven minutes is too much.
