SKA - HC Sochi. Match day

SKA will play their second home match in a row today against Southern visitors HC Sochi.

This will not be the first meeting between these teams this campaign, as in the pre-season Nikolai Puchkov tournament SKA came from two down to defeat Sochi in a 5:2 thriller. Ilya Kablukov, Evgeny Artyukhin, Evgeny Ketov, Ilya Kovalchuk and Maxim Chudinov all scored in that game, and will be looking for a repeat of that today. Sochi, just like SKA, haven't had the best of starts to the KHL regular season, and have only 25 points from 18 matches. They currently lay in 11th place of the Western Conference, and are coming off losing back to back defeats against HC Spartak Moscow (2:6 and 3:4 respectively). Veteran goaltender Konstantin Barulin has a solid 92.4% saves percentage, and their top scorer is Swedish forward Andre Petersson on 10 points (6+4).

Our team have now lost four out of their past five games, and have slipped to ninth in the conference with 27 points. An upturn in fortunes is most certainly needed, and Andrei Nazarov's troops will aim to snap a two game home losing streak.

The SKA - HC Sochi match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 will broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events by following our official Twitter account.
