Igor Larionov's thoughts after defeating Sochi on the road

HC SKA head coach Igor Larionov:

"It was a challenging game as a consequence of many reasons. Sochi were determined to play well, and they caused us some problems in defence. Nonetheless, we're satisfied with the win. It's pleasing that unlike on Thursday, we managed to protect the scoreline and see it out. We'll now prepare for Tuesday."

Why games against Sochi are always so difficult for SKA...

"When we lost here last season, we were coming off the back of an impressive performance in Minsk. It was a real challenge for us today too, with both teams creating plenty of chances. Overall, if we look at how many matches we've played in recently, we coped with the tough schedule pretty well. Our goalkeeper deserves credit for his excellent showing in net."
