Press conference after SKA hosted Sochi at the Ice Palace

HC SKA head coach Igor Larionov:

"Despite a strong third-period performance, we're ended up losing 1:2. We showed plenty of desire and energy, but Sochi were focused on defence and we couldn't break them down. If you want to be consistent, you must be fully focused throughout the entire match.

"Did we lack emotion despite having lost in Sochi recently? We were hungry to gain revenge for that particular result. However, we were all aware that Sochi had lost heavily in Magnitogorsk prior to this game, meaning that we knew that they were going to fight even harder than usual today. We have to give credit to their goalkeeper too.

"Rumours concerning a possible trade involving Marat Khairullin and Dmitrij Jaskin? I've already spoken to Marat, confirming to him that we are not holding any conversations regarding a possible transfer. We don't need a well-paid player on the slot; we're someone in that area who can do that job better than anyone else. It's a tough job."

HC Sochi head coach Dmitry Mikhailov:

"I was happy with how we played in the first period. In the second, however, we got stuck inside our zone as a consequence of taking too many penalties. SKA went for it in the third frame, but we didn't lose our way and competed with commitment. These components allowed for us to successfully see the match out."
