SKA - Dinamo Riga. Press-conference

HC Dinamo Riga head coach Kari Heikkilä:

- We have had a tough time of it of late, losing a lot of games by one goal. Nevertheless we got it together today, and I am satisfied with the result and the performance.

- Does this victory in Saint Petersburg mean a lot for you?

- We have played well during the last few games, but couldn't get the results. Our powerplay wasn't working, and we were making individual mistakes. This victory is of course very important for us.

HC SKA head coach Andrei Nazarov:

- I congratulate my colleague with the win. I can only say that we need to get through days like today, because we will do our utmost to prepare for the next game and win.

- What happened? You defeated Jokerit, and then lost today.

- The guys tried, there were a lot of shots and huge desire. I repeat again that we need to survive such days and try to win the next one. I and my whole coaching staff will do everything possible in order to please our fans, starting with the next match.

- Speak about Mikko Koskinen's substitution early on.

- In my opinion Mikko began poorly. I wondered before the game whether to play him or not. He didn't start well though, and conceded the first goal. We will see who we will put in net in the next fixture.

- Did the fact that Joacim Eriksson is the only right handed goaltender in the league play a part?

- No. We had chances, the guys tried their best. Probably we didn't move as well as we did against Jokerit, but I have no questions for them. We had a large number of openings. In the next match we will play to win.

- Mikko Koskinen was one of the best goaltenders during the KHL playoffs last season, but he has not started the season well. Have you had discussions with him about this?

- Any player can find themselves in such a situation where they have to prove with their game that they are as good as last year. He has got back a bit of form, but we need to pick the moment when he will peak.

- FC Zenit are playing at the Petrovsky Stadium now, but the Ice Palace was still full. Do you have talks in the dressing room about this, and about how the stadium is packed even for a match which doesn't come into the top category?

- We know why we are here - to make the fans happy. Unfortunately today we couldn't do it, even if we did try. I can say however that as a coach, I will do everything to turn the situation around in the next match. The fans will see this, if they are at the arena or watching on the television.
