SKA - Dynamo Moscow. Press-conference of Game Five

HC Dynamo Moscow head coach Harijs Vītoliņš:
- I congratulate Saint Petersburg with the series victory. We tried, fought, and got back into this game. However, one mistake is worth its weight in gold. We attempted to take the series back to Moscow, and unfortunately coudln't do it. Our season is over, but thanks to the players for their efforts. Overall I think we had a good season. I can't say anything more - inside there is just emptiness.
- What was your problem with SKA's second goal? Your team didn't want to come back and play.
- We thought that the whistle had been blown before the puck crossed the line. It's too late to say anything, but I thought that the whistle had already been blown.
HC SKA head coach Vyacheslav Bykov:
- I want to congratulate everyone with making the conference finals. Our mindset was very good today. I also want to thank the opponents - all of these five games were very tense, and the hockey was of a high level. We will now prepare for the next round of games, as our next opponents won't want to get knocked out either.
- Everything finished well for SKA, but what is happening with the powerplay?
- Let's pay attention to the first half of the question. You have to look at who we are playing against. If you ask such a question, do you think that we should score each time? The opponents are excellent. I don't think that asking such a question shows respect to the opponents.
- You were late to the previous press-conference. What were you telling your players?
- We have a working atmosphere inside our team, and I wouldn't want to make our conversations public. Sorry again that I was late.
- When did the idea come about to slot Roman Cervenka into the powerplay unit? Will you continue to do this?
- He just happened to skate out when players were changing. Yes, certainly we will keep on doing this.
- Have SKA tactically changed the style of their game during this series?
- I wouldn't like to speak about this, as both teams tried to play their game. For one team it worked, for another it didn't. You can't play without making mistakes. Today's game saw both teams playing without compromising. Everyone tried to play their own hockey.
- After losing your fourth game against Dynamo during the regular season, you mentioned that they are more patient and have different methods. The playoffs have gone a lot better, but SKA haven't become a team like Dynamo. What have you managed to change?
- We also tried to play with patience and discipline. We did that, as the players understood that we had to do this in the playoffs.
