28 December 2014

Today on the 28th of December, SKA will play its final match of the outgoing year against Dynamo Moscow in Saint Petersburg.

Dynamo aren't too far behind SKA in the Western Conference, being in fourth place with 79 points. They are in the middle of an immense away series, with the Muscovites being charged with playing eleven times in a row away from home. They've had mixed results so far, seeing off HC Sochi 6:1 and league leaders CSKA Moscow 2:1, but falling to Severstal Cherepovets 2:5 and Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod 1:2 on penalty shots. Martins Karsums, Maxim Karpov and Konstantin Volkov all have four points each from their past five appearances.

After the Channel One Cup break SKA have played two matches, losing to HC Dinamo Minsk 1:2 in a shootout before thrashing HC Slovan Bratislava 6:1 on the road. Our team has climbed to second of the overall KHL table now with 87 points, and can close in on CSKA with a second win in a row today. Vadim Shipachyov and Anton Burdasov are the team's top scorers from the past few games, with five points each, whereas Ilya Kovalchuk is still the team's overall leader with 47 (22+25).

This will be the fourth meeting between these two sides so far this season, with Dynamo having won everytime so far - 4:3 OT, 4:1 and 2:1.

The SKA - Dynamo Moscow match will begin at 17.30 Moscow time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. 100 TV and KHL TV will both broadcast the game live, while you can also keep up to date with events by following our matchcentre, or our twitter.
