SKA - Dynamo Moscow. Match day

SKA will play their first home match after the long Far Eastern series against HC Dynamo Moscow in Saint Petersburg.

Fixtures between these two teams are often referred to as Russian ice hockey's classic match up, and both have huge history against each other. Having been defeated by Dynamo twice in the KHL Gagarin Cup playoffs before our team roared back last season, taking a 4:1 series win. Following that loss Dynamo rung the changes during the summer, with big name Finnish defenceman Juuso Hietanen arriving from HC Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. All three goaltenders (Alexander Yeryomenko, Alexander Lazushin and Alexander Sharychenkov) have stayed though, and they have struggled so far this campaign losing to Admiral, Vityaz and Slovan all at home. Overall they have 12 points from seven games.

Our team improved while playing away in Siberia, and following reverses to Sibir and HC Metallurg Novokuznetsk the players regrouped to defeat Amur 3:0 and Admiral 5:1. Mikko Koskinen was the main reason behind those victories, taking one shutout along the way.

The SKA - Dynamo Moscow match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. 100 TV, KHL TV HD and Rossiya 2 will all broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events by following our official Twitter feed.
