SKA - Dynamo Moscow. Match day

Following a two week long break, the KHL returns with a bang as SKA take on HC Dynamo Moscow in Saint Petersburg.
These two teams have become eternal rivals over the past few years, and plenty of background history makes this match-up unmissable. Our team ended a two year long playoff curse against Dynamo by defeating the Moscow outfit 4:1 in last campaign's off-season, and SKA will be looking to heap more misery on Dynamo today. Nevertheless Dynamo will be confident coming into this one, having already beaten SKA two times this season: 4:2 in Saint Petersburg and 3:2 in the Russian capital. They haven't been in great form lately though, and have won only one out of the past six. Number one goaltender Alexander Yeryomenko has been out injured since the start of the campaign, however backup Alexander Lazushin has been solid with a 92.5% saves percentage. Their top scorer is surprisingly defenceman Mat Robinson with an impressive 24 points (11+13).
Since Sergei Zubov took over the role of interim head coach SKA have improved to an extent, and have won two out of their last three outings (4:2 against Yugra and 4:1 against Avangard respectively). Finnish goalkeeper Mikko Koskinen is on 91.4% at the moment, and forward Vadim Shipachyov already has 22 points to his name (4+18).
The SKA - Dynamo Moscow match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and Match TV will both broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events by following our official Twitter account or the on site match centre.
Today's game will start with a minute's silence in memory of the victims of the air tragedy over the Sinai Penisula.
