Three goals power SKA past Minsk!

11 March 2025

SKA made it three wins on the bounce with a tense 3:1 triumph over Dinamo Minsk, surviving an onslaught from the Belarusian opponents in the closing stages.

However, even though Vadim Moroz ruined Yegor Zavragin’s shutout hopes nine minutes from time, our players weathered the storm to earn two valuable points.

SKA had quickly taken charge of proceedings in the first period.
Arseniy Gritsyuk opened the scoring with a bomb in the 11th minute on the powerplay, before Mikhail Grigorenko bagged a rebound two minutes later.

Pavel Akolzin netted the all-important third when cleverly tipping Valentin Zykov’s slap shot beyond away netminder Vasily Demchenko. The visitors did launch a coach’s challenge for a possible offside, however the officials ruled it a clean goal following their video review.

Moroz gave Minsk a glimmer of hope with a PP goal of his own. Nevertheless, even though the opponents threw everything at us and registered 15 shots in the third stanza alone, SKA stood firm.

SKA will now prepare to host Sochi in Saint Petersburg on Friday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
