SKA - Amur. Press-conference

HC Amur Khabarovsk head coach Andrei Martemyanov:
- I would like to congratulate Oleg Znarok and the whole of Saint Petersburg with the KHL regular season triumph and today's victory. SKA played really well today. Unfortunately, we couldn't stick to our game plan. The opponents were faster, more aggressive, had more hunger in attack and were better in defence. Our forwards on the wings should have fought harder, we lost the battles in the corners.
- Can you compare this SKA team and CSKA Moscow from the 1980's? You played in that CSKA side.
- I think that you can compare these teams. SKA play powerfully in all positions, they have excellent players. They have a high level of commitment, playing style and quality. We know where we can progress.
- Following this match, how likely is it that Amur Khabarovsk will qualify for the KHL playoffs?
- As likely as the other teams. We have five matches to fight for qualification. I spoke with the team just now, no one is giving up and the guys want to make the playoffs. I hope that we can do it.
HC SKA head coach Oleg Znarok:
- I thank Andrei for the congratulations, he is my old friend from childhood. It was tough in the first period, the opponents put the pressure on. Physically, the players are in good shape. We got lucky with two goals, and then we played well.
- The Kontinental Cup winners have never won the KHL playoffs. How do you feel about that?
- I don't feel anything.
- Are you ready to break that tradition?
- Those superstitions can't make an impact on ice hockey.
- In January, are SKA playing for those who were involved in the Leningrad Blockade?
- Of course, we remember that happened. It's great that veterans are attending our matches. I wish them health.
