SKA - Amur

SKA - Amur - 3:2

2 November 2018

At the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace, SKA struggled to get going against a stubborn Amur Khabarovsk team, but a strong showing in the third period fired the team to an important 3:2 victory in the 2018/2019 KHL regular season.

For this match, head coach Ilya Vorobyov made one major change, replacing Magnus Hellberg in net with Igor Shestyorkin. The first period in Saint Petersburg ended goalless, but in the second, Amur took advantage of sloppy SKA mistakes in defence to score two goals through Tomas Zahorna and Michal Jordan.

SKA were struggling to develop any attacking traction, but in a thrilling third frame, the team scored three excellent goals to somehow dig out a tough 3:2 victory. Alexander Barabanov got SKA on the board, Artyom Zub finished from close range to equalise, and the former then tipped in for his second to seal a pulsating 3:2 win!
