Severstal - SKA - 0:5
Severstal - SKA - 0:5

In Cherepovets, SKA began the latest 2018/2019 KHL away series with a positive result, thrashing HC Severstal 5:0. Head coach Ilya Vorobyov made one major change to the line-up, handing star forward Nikolai Prokhorkin a rest and inserting Ilya Kablukov into the roster. Magnus Hellberg and Dominik Furch were the starting goalkeepers.
SKA made the perfect start on the powerplay, as the puck was forced over the line by an unfortunate Severstal defenseman after Patrik Hersley's initial slapper had been saved. In the mood for more, our players continued pressing the hosts, scoring a second before the opening frame ended as Alexander Dergachyov's effort from distance caught Dominik Furch cold.
It was the second period were SKA really stuck the dagger into Severstal hearts. Patrik Hersley and Nail Yakupov both netted further goals on the powerplay, and in the final moments of the frame, the latter once again netted at point blank range. Magnus Hellberg stopped everything which Severstal threw at him, in turn seeing the team through to a thumping 5:0 victory!
