Roman Rotenberg speaks after beating Ak Bars in Kazan

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:

- Both teams fought hard and displayed a high level of ice hockey. Our guys did a great job today, dominating throughout and competing with discipline. We must start using more of our opportunities in front of goal, though.

- SKA appear to be gaining stability with three wins in three games.

- This is down to our hard work. I'm liking our movement this season so far, we're always competing at a high tempo. Tactically, we produced an excellent performance today. Our players are full of motivation and energy, their eyes are burning with desire. When we 100% stick to our game plan, we achieve victories. The third period was key? To be honest, our overall display today was really good. Yes, we did concede disappointing goals, but apart from those incidents we didn't allow Ak Bars to create any chances.

- Kazan also boast a really strong squad, but they didn't play well today. Were you surprised by their low level of performance?

- It wouldn't be correct of me to speak about the opponents. We have a lot of respect for Ak Bars, they possess a strong team with plenty of quality players. If we compare how the two teams play, then we can see that SKA and Kazan use completely different systems.
