Roman Rotenberg speaks after beating Dynamo in Moscow

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:
- Both teams tried to display exciting ice hockey. We didn't start too well, you must always compete with discipline when playing against such a strong team on the PP like Dynamo Moscow. They have a lot of quality players who have won the Olympic Games. Our guys on the PK did a fantastic job, playing in accordance with our game plan and with commitment. We neutralised their powerplays and subsequently took the initiative. After we scored on the powerplay, the match went just as we had wanted. We will now correct our mistakes and prepare for Wednesday.
- When can we expect Pavel Moisevich to play in your net?
- Pavel is training excellently. Time will tell. He's 100% ready, we all understand this.
- How important was it to score the first goal in this game?
- As a coach, you always want your team to score first! You play as well as the opponents allow. Dynamo are a strong side, a lot of their players have won the Olympics and the NHL Stanley Cup. We understood Dynamo's level. I really liked how our players competed on the ice, they played with speed, fire in their eyes and for each other.
- This was Brendan Leipsic's first appearance in two months. How would you assess his display?
- Brendan worked really hard at training. He needed time to recover from his serious head injury, so that's why we didn't hurry the process. Thank you to our doctors for helping him to recover. Brendan played well today, but he knows that he can play even better.
- Why wasn't Vasily Glotov in your line-up?
- Vasily couldn't play because of his health. This is the reason why a lot of our guys haven't travelled with us for this road trip.
- Information suggesting that Vladimir Alistrov won't return until next season is doing the rounds on the internet. Is it true?
- I don't know who is creating these rumours. Alistrov is currently recovering from his injury. Just like all of our other players, Vladimir competes with commitment. Ice hockey is a tough sport, injuries happen. Nevertheless, we're waiting for him in the near future. The recovery process is continuing.
