Roman Rotenberg speaks after beating Lada in Tolyatti

HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:

- I would like to thank the fans at the arena today, all tickets were sold. Furthermore, I would like to thank our travelling supporters, they helped us achieve this victory. It's an important win for us, it was a tough game and there are many things which we aren't satisfied with. We are moving forward, step by step. I would also like to point out the poor quality of the ice, which affected both teams. We had encountered the same problem in Moscow against Dynamo on Saturday. We want the ice to be of the same standard everywhere in the KHL so that we can display exciting ice hockey with plenty of goals. When the quality isn't good, it consequently results in incoherent play.

- How difficult was this 3:0 win for SKA?

- There are no easy victories in life or in ice hockey. The opponents created a lot of difficulties for us, and we understood that it was going to be a challenging match. After the disappointing first period, we held a productive conversation with the guys. I would like to thank our goalkeeper Sergei Ivanov, who earned a shutout and kept us in the game - especially in the opening stanza. We're happy that our system is producing fantastic goaltenders.

- Vladimir Alistrov is rapidly improving. Can we say that he is becoming one of SKA's leading players?

- We are counting on all of our players. We're happy that Vladimir took the role of a leader today, he led by example out there. Nonetheless, this was only the second game of the campaign, we have things to work on.
